Moving into my new crib
It all began at 4:00P.M. We (Jessica Wilson my new roommate and I) met our landlord to get the keys to our new home. My first question asked, "Are there a lot of spiders in here?" I'd write down his response but it was too long for words. Basically he said, "Never". Then within a few hours we both ran into 3 spiders. Jessica and I were waiting for her parents to show up with our twin beds, so we thought we'd take a run to DI and shop around for new furniture for our house. We got to DI and found two of the best chairs ever produced. Hers is a big bright red chair, which is in very good condition. Mine is a yellow fabricated wooden rocking chair, it is more amazing than words could explain. We were trying to figure out WHY someone would ever give that chair up, even if they were dead, it still wouldn't make sense. It does make a popping sound ever time you rock in it, but it's not TOO annoying (yet). We kind of went on a buying splurge and bought more than we could carry that day. Thankfully Jessica's parents were close with the trailer, so we could get all of this to our house. My favorite part of the night was when I was testing out my rocking chair and Jessica was moving some things in. All of a sudden a cat came running out of our bedroom and through the house right towards Jessica. She started screaming and it scared the cat so bad it started running up and down all the walls in our house consecutive times. The front door was open and finally after a while it found it's way outside. Jessica's face was priceless. She was jumpy about everything the rest of the night. Apparently the girl who lived here before us had 2 cats, which was not allowed in the first place. She happened to LEAVE them when she moved (idiot). So now we have an orange and black cat that look anorexic sitting on our porch all day long meowing for food. We feel bad, but we don't want cats. I named the orange one Venus. It tried to get into our house and I yelled, "Venus no!" It ran away. I told Jessica it knows it name. Our bath tub is amazing. It is one of those old fashioned ones that stands away from the wall with legs. There is a retched smell that comes from under the kitchen sink, we don't ask questions, we just keep the cabinet doors shut. One of the light switches for the kitchen is up about 6 feet from the ground, we just figure the people who built the home didn't want their kids to turn the lights on and off, wasting power like they do. We bought a TV from DI. It's a pretty good one. The actual screen is about 1/100th of the whole thing, but we all can't afford flat screens. I've never shared a room before. EVER. It's not bad so far, Jessica is a wonderful roommate. She is a mean sleeper though. If she is not completely awake she becomes that nasty old lady who lives next door and yells at you for no reason at all. Yesterday morning she said, "What is that NOISE!" I said, "My alarm" she said, "It has been going off ALL night long!" I said, "No, just this morning a few times." I replied, "No..." She said, "YESS!!!!" And I left it at that. No point in arguing with a dead person. Jessica told me to stop killing all the huge bugs that she claims are "mosquito killers". So I left this huge black one on the wall for a few days. Then my friend came over and said, "What's that on the wall?" Jessica said, "A mosquito killing bug". He said, "That looks like a nail with some lint hanging from it". "Ohhh." Our bedroom floor arches in the middle about 5 inches from the sides of the room. I'm sure our beds are completely slanted, but hopefully we'll get used to it. The girl who lives next door came over and introduced herself to us. She seemed nice, I said she could definitely beat us up if she wanted too, Jessica said she could definitely eat us up too. I'm sure we will become good friends. As far as Venus goes, we are starting to feel bad, should we feed them? As for now, I don't think we care enough just yet. I'm sure we will walk out on the porch someday soon only to find two dead cats. Animals.
