Birthday Excitement

Today the memory of my last birthday popped into my head. It landed on a Sunday this year. My singles ward in Provo starts late in the afternoon at 1:30. It's nice for us "kids" to be able to sleep in til noon and then get up, get ready and be to church on time. On this particular Flag Day, I had a super runny nose. I'm not much of a tissue person, so I just conveniently wipe my snot off with the back of my hand. It's nice. So... As the meeting had just begun, I was sitting next to Mikelle, and I was rummaging through my purse for any sort of goodies. Luckily, I found a starburst and began to eat away. Mikelle looked over at me and demanded for a starburst by displaying her firm hand right in front of my face. I got the message, and leaned down for my purse. As I was leaning forward casually looking for a starburst for her, I noticed my runny nose building up. It felt like it had formed a wall at the end of my nose, so I wasn't concerned just yet. As I continued searching, Mikelle began to frantically wave her hands in the air and point at my face. I couldn't figure out what was going on, until I crossed my eyes and looked down. I had a string of snot hanging from my nose about 4 inches in length. I quickly grabbed the string of snot and wiped it on my black pencil skirt. Phew!! That was a close one. We laughed for a good two minutes. At the conclusion of sacrament meeting, my roommate Caitlin looked over at me and said, "What is all over your skirt?" At first I was baffled. Then I remembered, "Oh! It's just snot."
